Our First Month, April, 2009

Though right in the middle of unpacking and settling in, we couldn't neglect our time outdoors. Our third day home we spent some time at Cumberland Falls, to see what it looked like after the spring rains had begun.

Kristina B. was our privileged first guest in our guest room. She arrived on Wednesday--the day after we unloaded our truck! It was SO special to have her as our special guest, and her help unpacking boxes and washing new dishes was wonderful!

Daniel and I at Cumberland Falls.

An interesting looking hollow tree there at the falls. We had to climb inside for some pictures!

The bushes were in full bloom in our front yard--what a contrast from the snow we'd left behind in Washington!

Our first Sabbath dinner guests in our home were Daniel's family, only a couple weeks after we'd moved in.

A neat trail only a few miles down the road. Daniel's parents admiring the view.

Sunshine through the trees lighting up our trail.

A neighbor's mailbox along the road back to home. No problems with getting that one smashed!

Back at home, we admired the beautiful blossoms on our bushes!

and so did the butterflies....

and the bees!

The cute little pinecones on our hemlock trees gracing our front yard.

Interesting lichen growing on a log.

Thunderstruck Shoals is another neat place just a couple miles down the road. We went there for Sabbath afternoon when Pastor Terry and Jean McComb came to visit us for a week!
