Colors and Themes
Below are the colors and themes we have for each room in our home. See photos of some of the rooms in our photo gallery. (Note that these photos were taken before Daniel moved in, so of course the decorations and furniture are different now--we'll be posting updated photos soon!)
Note: All color swatches are darker to give you an idea of the color, but most of the rooms will be lighter shades of those colors. The darkest rooms will be the living room and family room.
The kitchen and dining room both have wood laminate floors. The kitchen walls are a light wood pattern, with oak cabinets, and the dining room walls are painted a warm grey. They are decorated with a vineyard and grapes theme. For colors, we've chosen green (both darker and lighter shades), accented by lighter purples, and pinks.
The bathroom is done in light colors--a white vanity and ivory sink, with accented light beige flooring and walls. We are decorating with a theme of woods, trees and waterfalls. The main color is light shades of green with other accent hints (like light yellows, browns, blues, etc.) to help emphasize the nature theme.
Note: You can find towels, rugs, dishes, and other accessories, and get an idea of the colors and styles for the kitchen and bathroom from our Bed, Bath, and Beyond registry!
The bedrooms all have painted white paneling for the walls, and wood laminate floor like the kitchen and dining room.
The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed, and the room is decorated with a roses/flowers theme, including these and similar colors: green of lighter and darker shades and pastel lavenders and pinks also with darker and lighter shades.
The guest bedroom has a double-sized bed, and also is decorated with a roses theme. The colors we've chosen are: green of lighter and darker shades and pastel pink, with some accents of light coral for color tone variation.
The third bedroom is our online store and sewing room (and everything else!). We are decorating it with an Africa theme--with Daniel's collection of souvenirs that he brought back from Namibia. The colors are a bit more interesting--just think gourds, baskets, wood carvings, lions, tigers, and zebras, and you get the picture! Putting those color swatches here isn't really necessary...
The living room is used as our office. It has a light white/warm grey multi-colored carpet, and darker wood paneling walls with deep brown trim and brass/gold accents. It is decorated with a forests, mountains, lakes and nature scenes. The colors we've chosen are forest green of dark and light shades, with accents of gold, ebony, indigo, etc. to bring out the nature theme.
The family room is our living room. It has a warm-toned, dark multi-colored carpet, and warm grey painted walls. Our theme is wild animals (mainly cats and birds) and flowers. Our sofa and furnishings are blue, so the colors we've chosen are: blue of dark and light shades, with accents of light pink as well as beige, purple and other color hints to bring out the nature theme.
