You are looking at Cumberland Falls -- sometimes referred to as the "Niagra of the South." This state park, with its hiking trails and picnic areas, is only 4 miles from our front door!
Here's a closer view of Cumberland Falls--this time at full flooding! The roar of the falls is so loud we can hear it from our house!
Here's the same closer view of Cumberland Falls-- this time during the summer! The sunshine and green bushes just make it sparkle!
This is one of our favorite views of Cumberland Falls, about halfway down the trail. Here the falls is at flood stage.
Here is the same view along Eagle Falls Trail, a little later in the spring when the falls was starting to get lower (it gets a fair amount narrower towards the end of the summer).
And here is the destination--Eagle Falls! The cool mist coming off the falls is natural air conditioning on hot summer days and the rocks around it are so much fun to climb and explore!
Here's a picture that was taken from one of the overlooks in the Big South Fork National Park, only about 25 minutes from our home.
Last, but not least, is the little Stearns Seventh-day Adventist Church, with a small group of members, located on the outskirts of Whitley City.
