Two Eagles in Courtship Flight (click photo to see them)
More of the Eagles.
Canada Geese taking advantage of melting ice on Williams Lake.
The spot where Kristina was baptized in October, 2001.
Isaac and Emily were fun to visit too!
Northport Church hosted a Discovering His Treasures program while we were there.
Daniel and Kristina were able to do a nature presentation, as well as mission program, sharing about their health work in Kentucky. It was so much fun to be able to share and inspire them to do more!
Kristina and her Mother--look like sisters! ;)
Ryan and Alina and Avidan came to visit us! (Mother and Erick pruning trees in background)
Nice to see Faith, Kristina's cat. She'll be 15 yrs old in April!
Such a sweet little family! :)
More special friends :)
A highlight of our Washington trip was spending our first anniversary at the same cabin we honeymooned in last year--and this time we had a camera!
One of our first meals at the cabin. It's so cozy and just like a home!
The kitchen part of the cabin--fully equipped with everything you need for cooking!
Daniel doing the dishes.
The cute little bathroom and shower--cozy but works well.
View from the front porch. Quiet and secluded in the woods.
The dozen roses that Daniel bought and arranged himself to surprise Kristina!
Kristina enjoying the snow flurries from the front porch.
Snowing a bit harder--I guess Washington had to compete with Kentucky's snow! ;)
Daniel and Kristina on the front steps. Don't you just want to hide out here sometime?
The hot tub in the woods.
We throughly enjoyed it every evening!
Another special meal together.
Kristina working in the kitchen (more like playing for her!)
Another yummy meal.
The "bedroom" area of the cabin.
The easy chair by the woodstove.
The roses were prettier each day!
The cabin with the sun shining on it through the trees.
A sunny view from the front porch.
Far away view of the cabin, from down the trail.
The house where the owner's live, just down the hill from the cabin.
The view from their driveway.
Looking back at their house from the road. (The cabin is hiding up the hill behind the house, in the woods)
Heading across the Inchelium Ferry to visit Tony and Sylvia.
So many memories on that ferry!
The views while crossing the river.
The little car that Kristina's parents let us borrow during our stay in Washington. So much fun to spend our anniversary driving her parents very first car after they got married!
Kristina's mother baked an anniversary cake and surprised us with it when we got back.
They even made us feed each other again! (we were nicer this time...)
Snowstorm up on the mountain.
Kristina and Kimberly = Best Friends!
Packing to go back home to Kentucky! So sad to say goodbye to family and friends, but so NICE to be back HOME!
Chad visited us shortly after we got back.
We were too busy to get photos of our cooking classes and the diabetes fair that happened the week we got home. But planting the garden happened the following week.
Kristina planting greens and lettuce in garden plot #1.
Claws was very happy to have us home again! Here's her favorite spot to sleep--right outside the dining room door where she can keep an ear on us.
A tree frog who climbed our front door to announce spring is here!
The McCreary County Health Fair was a lot of fun! We teamed up with Get Healthy McCreary County and we had 3 tables total!
We were thankful for Paige and April, who came down from Somerset to help out.
Kristina gave out little cups of soup and advertised the cooking class. In four hours we gave out 8 quarts of soup!
Daniel and his helpers were busy doing health age tests on over 100 people.
Danielle and her mother helped us distribute over 350 pieces of health literature!
Our whole team of helpers!
Sabbath afternoon hike to Thunderstruck Shoals, along the Cumberland River.
Danielle and Daniel trying to build a make-shift bridge to get to the other rock.
Danielle braving the unstable crossing.
Working to make the bridge more stable.
Daniel's turn to cross.
They did it! (Kristina did NOT)
Daniel enjoying the sunshine and fresh air.
Far away view of the rapids at Thunderstruck Shoals. The sound was amazing!
Closer to the rapids.
Looking directly over the rapids.
Flood waters washed up a lot of trash in piles along the bank.
We even found Absolom hanging by his hair!
Lots of neat rocks to climb on.
Sandstone rock along the shore.
Close up view of that rock--on macro mode.
Who needs a gym when you live around here?
Daniel and Kristina enjoying the rocks.
Smile!
Looking back at the rapids in the distance, just before hiking back.
Ever looked at lichen on rocks this close?
What about moss?
Even the little things are intriguing!
A very persevering tree. :)
Serena, one of the bridesmaids at our friend's wedding.
The wedding of Lindsey Day and Bryan Elliott.
Cutting the cake.
