Homemakers Yahoo Falls hike and garbage pick-up, Rainbow at Cumberland Falls, Yahoo Falls, Canoeing at Big Creek, Kristina's 29th Birthday Party.
Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4 Page 5 Page 6 Show AllWe enjoyed a visit from our friends, John and Connie. We had fun taking them to see Cumberland Falls and even got to see the rainbow! (NOT the moonbow)
Our cooking class this month was on garden vegetables--especially zucchini. This was our display for the Whitley City class.
Mmmm! Yummy! Vegetable Polenta Casserole. The steamed vegetables are in the bowl, and you can see the polenta slices in the bottom of the casserole dish.
Pouring the veggies on top. Add tomato sauce or pasta sauce on top, and heat in the oven. Serve immediately!
Sabbath afternoon we took another hike at Yahoo Falls. This time with Andrew, Daniel's Mom, Tauvaris, and Donna.
It was so hot, we ended up walking under the falls to cool off, before continuing down the trail! Daniel did it first. Mom tried it second. Tauvaris third.
That big flat boulder up there is Buzzard Rock--where we love to hike to, and have posted so many pictures of the river below.
Now we are canoeing in that same river! You can see Buzzard rock in this picture, about halfway up the ridge. :) It was interesting looking at it from below, this time!
Kimberly came up for Kristina's birthday, and got up at 4:30am so she could decorate the dining room while everyone was still sleeping! This is what Kristina woke up to at 7am.
After church, we came home for lunch and there was 8 of us, total! Kimberly, David and Kristina A, Mom, Andrew, and Tauvaris. Dad joined us by skype video--he was the 9th person!
Asian menu--Kristina's favorite! Sushi rice, seaweed, and avocado and cucumber--everyone got to assemble their own sushi; the large dish is asian noodles and veggies. It was a feast!
Daniel put one candle on Kristina's cake--Kimberly told her it was because she only had one year left until she turns 30! lol
Kimberly put together some fun activities for everyone. She had a special Bible treasure hunt, with Kristina's cards and gifts at the end.
We all were given measures cut out from hymns, without the time signature OR key signature, and we had to figure out how the measures fit together and what song it was.
Everyone working on their separate puzzles. Some playing the piano, some whistling, some humming, and poor Kristina about went crazy! lol
Daniel was the only one who never once touched a piano and figured his out entirely by sight-reading and whistling each measure. He's amazing!
Kristina had a tough one... a song written in 4 sharps, and half of the measures were cut into separate pieces and some were missing the bass clef! Kim knew she had to give Kristina an extra-tough one!
After everyone was done, the three girls put their heads together to try and piece Mom's puzzle into something musical. It was a song that none of them knew, so it was a real challenge and took some serious teamwork to figure it out!
Kristina's completed puzzle--Soldiers of Christ Arise, from the old hymnal and an unfamiliar key! lol
