Laurel Lake Canoe Camping Trip, Baptism, Food Art, etc.
Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Show AllWe enjoyed a special graduation party for Raven and Makayla at Jim and Susan's house. Kristina was in charge of all the activities, so she wasn't able to take any other pictures!
We got adventurous and headed to Laurel Lake for a canoe camping trip. We paddled up to our campsite just in time to watch the sun set over the lake.
After breakfast, we headed out to the wilderness preserve for some quiet water relaxation. We found an inlet all too ourselves and it was so quiet and peaceful!
It was hot! We pretty much stayed in the water from breakfast until lunch and then from lunch until near sunset!
We took our old air mattress with us, again. It was fun to play with in the water! Kristina is wearing a swim suit that her mother bought her for her birthday. Thanks, Mother!!
This was our private bay along the lake--just a short ways from our tent. We shared it with one other campsite, so it was very nice!
This picture tells a story--A huge storm came while we were packing to leave, picked up the canoe and threw it against a rock!
A camper nearby loaned us enough duct tape to patch our canoe, with the help of a gallon zip-lock bag we had at camp.
We had met this family in the outhouse during the storm. They made us herb tea, and helped us get dry. Here they are waving their goodbyes as we paddled our patched canoe back to the car.
